Does reiki actually work? Isn't that stuff fake? How can it do anything if we aren't even touching? These are some of the questions people have asked me. I've even found myself asking these questions from time to time. But I'm here to tell you it works!
First things first, reiki uses the universal life force energy that is all around us to heal. Whether we know it is there or not...we are surrounded by this energy. Some people choose to believe that all there is in this life is what we can see and physically feel. That science is the be all and end all and if science hasn't said it's true then it must not be. I don't live my life that way and know there is so much out there in the universe that we have yet to understand. But having an open mind and being curious about discovering the unknown will bring you all the answers you need. I am saying this because I do believe that people's thoughts and beliefs can impact any healing taking place.
First, what is energy? Energy is the ability to create change. Energy is all around us. Even our thoughts are energy. We must be aware of what kind of thoughts and beliefs we are putting out into the universe. If you believe that there is more than what is seen and we all have the ability to heal ourselves, then I would recommend having a reiki session. If you believe that it's all nonsense and fake and already believe nothing will happen before a session starts...what do you think you will receive? Everyone receives what they ask for and need...without asking and being open to healing you will not receive. Believing is seeing...not the other way around.
All I'm saying is that it is important to have an open mind when doing energetic healing because it can be so vastly different for everyone. Some people will feel things physically while others may have only emotional healing. Until you have your own experience who knows what you will feel. There is no one way to heal...so be open to the unknown and be willing to explore all parts of the universe...including yourself.
